In Spring 2007, The Nicole Schiffman Memorial Scholarship was awarded following a writing competition by members of the John F. Kennedy High School Senior Class. Students were asked to submit personal essays or poems on one of the following topics related to Nicole's tragedy- Interpersonal Relationships Among Teenagers, Drugs and Alcohol Abuse or Gun Control. After careful evaluation, and interviews with the final three finalists, the winning entry was chosen. The Nicole Schiffman Foundation was proud to award the 2007 Nicole Schiffman Memorial Scholarship to Ali Krimmer, an exceptional young woman whose character represents many values that Nicole possessed. Please read Ali's submission about the difficulty of growing up in today's society, and the social pressures that a young adult must overcome.
