Safe Horizon "Holiday Gathering" Gift Drive
The Nicole Schiffman Foundation brightened the faces of many youths this holiday season at the Safe Horizon Brooklyn Community Programs "2008 Holiday Gathering." Held at St. Francis College on November 21st, over 350 clients joined in the holiday cheer, enjoying entertainment, a delicious holiday meal, arts & crafts, raffles, a visit from Santa and presents for all ages. The Nicole Schiffman Foundation, with the help of individual donors, was privileged to provide over 60 youths (ages 12+) with holiday gifts, putting a smile on the faces of those who have been deeply affected by violence.
Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. The Brooklyn Community Program "2008 Holiday Gathering" offered The Nicole Schiffman Foundation the unique opportunity to lend a hand to those in need during a difficult time. Participating in this memorable event allowed The Nicole Schiffman Foundation to aid in the healing process of youths who have been victims of various crimes including domestic violence, sexual assault, rape and homicide. Being exposed so early on to violence can seriously affect a teenager's future particulalry at such an impressionable age. We thank all our donors for allowing us to present those youths with a little hope during the holiday season.
