Phi Sig Scholarship Established in Memory of the Beta Alpha Sister, Nicole Schiffman
The sisters of the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority at The University of Maryland have established a special committee in memory of their beloved sister Nicole. Headed by a philanthropy chair, the sisters have created a scholarship fund to honor the memory of their expectional sister and friend. This memorial scholarship will be funded through the various fundraising events organized by the Phi Sig sisters throughout the school year such as this past year’s Alumni Lunch, National Jean Company Shopping Spree, and the sale of the “Smile for Nicole” bracelets, among others.
The Nicole Schiffman Scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2008 to an stand-out student that meets the criteria determined by the sisters of Phi Sig Maryland chapter. Nicole's sorority sisters look to award this special memorial scholarship to a sister who embodies everything Nicole stood for - sisterhood, friendship, and community service involvement. A gift from Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority at University of Maryland, the Nicole Schiffman marble bench sits at the stairs of the Phi Sig house providing comfort to Nicole's sisters at times of need.
